Feldspar-quartz pegmatite dykes embedded in biotite gneiss cropping out along the road, to the north of Stavalina, at an elevation of about 1400 m. Accessory minerals include apatite (fluorescing salmon-pink), opal (fluorescing green), garnet, muscovite, and tourmaline (Tabacchi, 1972)

Other dykes, consisting of almost pure feldspar and quartz (and for this reason worthy of industrial exploitation), crop out above Stavalina, between Stavello and Piatta di Sotto. The main dyke is almost 2 km long and up to 100 m thick. These pegmatites are very poor in accessory minerals (apatite, garnet, tourmaline, iron oxides and hydroxides).
