Forgotten feldspar quarry east of the Åvesland localities, east of the Storøygardvatnet lake.
One quarry is positively recognizable, but there are indications on the altitude map and on an aerial picture that there might have been more activity here.
Points of interest are:
58.59882°N 7.96°Ø (maybe a vertical shaft?)
58.59795°N 7.96058°Ø (quarry?)
58.59738°N 7.95967°Ø (quarry?)
58.59597°N 7.9565°Ø (lots of loose rocks at the aerial picture of 1972, but now a house is standing exactly on top of this locality)
58.59572°N 7.95833°Ø (shallow quarry)
NOTE Ronald Werner 2021/2024:
Locality visited 29 August 2021 and 1 May 2024. Apart from some ok graphic granite no accessory minerals were observed. Minor signs of collecting activity. Apart from a few minor exposures, this pegmatite is not particularly well-exposed and seemingly of little or no interest for further study.
The pegmatite is dipping in a 45 degree angle into NNW-direction, underlain by amphibolite. The contact between pegmatite and amphibolite is well exposed in both walls in the entrance part of the quarry.
