Located just north of the Skippers town site. Ferro manganese has been reported in the floor of the historic gold sluicing workings at this site. Much gold was obtained from this small 6 acre terrace in the 1860's.
The manganese mineral zone consists of chloritic mica schist, containing lenticular masses of blackish-brown ferro manganese ore with epidote, spessartine garnet, calcite, rhodonite, copper carbonates, and specularite. The zone trends north north-east but to no extent, and dips west. The copper is reported as green carbonates (malachite?) but no species is mentioned. The specular iron is small and large grains in garnet rock. Rhodonite occurs as small irregular masses. The ferro manganese ore can be found as pebbles in the alluvium.
