A former small deposit worked via underground workings, shafts and shallow pits in the early 1900s.
Mined by New Hope Copper Mining Company 1902 for iron flux. Explored by Newmont Pty Ltd in 1972-1974 and Shell Minerals in 1979.
Hosted by highly ferruginous siltstone and sandstone. Also iron stained breccia containing chert fragments in siltstone. Hematite-magnetite veins containing wolframite traverse the sediments. These veins also contain anomalous tungsten, bismuth and tin.
