Vote for your favorite mineral in #MinCup26! - Sphalerite vs. Anorthite
Both zinc ore Sphalerite and calcium plagioclase feldspar Anorthite have perfect cleavage that will split cleanly if you hit them with a hammer, but only one can claim a larger split of your votes!

Cu-Ni prospect. Located 25 kilometres north-east of Barrow Creek, and 5 kilometres east of the Stuart Highway. Discovered in the 1970's, and explored by Kewanee Australia Pty Ltd until 1974, revealing along a 1600 metre length areas of disseminated sulphide grains and aggregates, and a 250 metre high grade zone.

A 10-18 meter thick metamorphosed mafic/ultramafic sill intrudes metamorphosed siltstone and sandstone. The sill is folded, and dips steeply to vertical. Cu-Ni mineralisation in massive sulphide bands, surrounded by lower disseminated mineralisation, in the Footwall of gabbroic rocks, quartz and quartz-carbonate veins. The high grade area is structurally thickened by tight folds, and intersecting shears, with a steep north-west plunge.

There is an Inferred resource (not JORC) from the surface down to 300 feet of 3 163 800 tonnes of ore at 0.56% Cu and 0.19% Ni. This would indicate a sub-economic grade of metals. One drill hole revealed 8 g/t gold, but appears could be isolated without further evidence.
