Goat Mountain Mine, Evergreen Group


This mine is located 1 mile southwest of Twin Lakes on the north face of Goat Mountain. The ore occurred in quartz veins in Jurassic-Cretaceous metasedimentary rocks of the Darrington Phyllite. It was developed by two adits, the longest of which was around 300' long. It produced ore in 1902 and 1903.
Structure: Host Rocks Are Sheared And Contorted

Tectonics: Cascade Volcanic Arc

Deposit: Deposit is in quartz veins, 2-12 in. Thick. See also mrds record m700029

Deposit type: Polymetallic veins

Development: Some production occurred in 1902 and 1903. Portable one-stamp mill was used on site. The mine is no W part of the evergreen group of claims.

Geology: Host rocks are blueschise facies metamorphic rocks
