Deposit: Most of the deposits in the scholle district are similar. The ore is associated with carbonaceous debris in flat-lying (2 to 3 degree) sandstone, silistone and conglomerates. Mineralization is irregular and concentrations are scattered. Ore beds are small but often high-grade. Copper grades range from 0.58 to 5.72 percent copper (soule, 1956, p.61). The uranium usually occurs in close association with copper mineralization, but the highest levels of radioactivity do not necessarily correspond to the richest copper concentrations. The uranium occurs in small pods that have been uneconomic to mine.
Development: There are several active claims in the district but no working mines.
