Pallasite, main group [PMG-an]
Find, 1882; 2.4 tons
Over 2 tons of fragments have been found since 1882. Some were found near a depression, Haviland crater, and others over a kilometer away. In prehistoric times several pieces were transported to other regions such as the Turner Mound and Hopewell Mounds of Ohio. The proportion of Fe-Ni metal to olivine varies considerably in some portions of the meteorite.
According to the data provided by McKibbinn et al. (2019), olivine is forsterite with an average composition Fa11.88.
