A lead-silver mine SW of Chewelah. It was next to the Double Eagle Quarry but was geologically and physically separate from it. The geology is mineralization in shear zones near the contact between the Buffalo Hump Formation and the Stensgar Dolomite of the Proterozoic Deer Trail Group. The ore occurred as largely oxidized lead, copper, and silver minerals near the surface. Many boulders containing high grade silver ore were found in float, but the deposit was limited in extent in situ. At depth disseminated lead mineralization was found Development consisted of several adits containing around 2200' of workings. Some ore was produced in 1919 and 1939. Three truckloads of oxidized surface ore averaged 70 oz/ton silver and 22% lead. Mills (1977) reports a production of 3,000 lbs Pb and 1,600 oz Ag
