Burkhardsrieth is a parish village in the Upper Palatinate. It is part of the town of Pleystein in the Neustadt an der Waldnaab district in Bavaria and is located in the southeast of the municipality.

Burkhardsrieth goes back to an old clearing settlement. In 1808/10 the Burkhardsrieth tax district was formed. The political community was established in Bavaria in 1818 by the community edict. On January 1, 1972, as part of the regional reform in Bavaria, the communities of Lohma and Miesbrunn as well as parts of the dissolved community of Bernrieth were incorporated into Pleystein. On July 1, 1972, parts of the former community of Burkhardsrieth and the town itself followed suit.
