Orchard Quarry


A limestone quarry owned by A.H. Burkholder. Started 1821. Workings featured a 600 feet long by 400 feet (ca. 122 m) wide and 60 feet (ca. 18 m) deep quarry. This quarry is now flooded. The majority of the quarry's workings lie within the borough of Quarryville; however, small portions of it are also located in Eden Township and Providence Township.
