The Morning Star lease adjoined the reward lease to the north-east, and was on the same reef. GML 182L. Held and worked during its initial years from 1908 by W. Farley. 12 acres.
The lease was on the crest of the hill, just past where the reward reef intersected a quartzite dyke. Gibb-Maitland states the reef was very broken. Another reef was worked on the northern slope of the hill.
Blatchford in 1912 states very little work has been done on the lease, despite several crushings reported in other sources. He states the stone from the surface is payable. A conglomerate band cuts the northern end of the lease.
By 1914, the lease had produced 367 tonnes of ore for 838.22 ounces of gold. Crushings were reported from 1909 to 1914.
