A salt deposit located 7.5 km (4.7 miles) ENE of Lindale center (10 miles NNW of Tyler), on private land. Discovered in 1866. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated. Oil production is realized from the Fender Field. Solution mining of salt occurred during the civil war. Lime from calcareous sand of the Wilcox group was burned just after the civil war for use at Tyler.

Mineralization is a salt dome deposit (Mineral occurrence model information: Model code: 252; USGS model code: 35a.4 (35ad); Deposit model name: Salt domes: diapiric salt structures), hosted in the Late Jurassic Louann Salt and limestone. The ore body is a diapir at a thickness of 6,400.8 meters, width of 3,379.53 meters, length of 3,540.46 meters and a depth-to-top of 22.86 meters. The caprock is 9 to 200 feet thick. The depth to caprock is 75 feet, and to the salt it is 300 feet, and to the Louann Salt it is 21,000 feet. The surface expression is 3.7 square miles. This deposit also classifies as USGS model Gypsum (35A.6) limestone. Local rocks include alluvium.

Local geologic structures include piercement faults.
