A salt deposit located 16 miles S85E of Galveston, on offshore block No. 144, at a water depth of 10 and 20 meters, on National offshore waters. Discovered in 1948. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.

Mineralization is a salt dome deposit (Mineral occurrence model information: Model code: 252; USGS model code: 35a.4 (35ad); Deposit model name: Salt domes: diapiric salt structures, hosted in the Late Jurassic Louann Salt. The ore body is a diapir with a depth-to-bottom of 493.78 meters. The depth to caprock is 1,620 feet and to the salt is 1,741 feet. Local rocks include rocks of the Lissie Formation.
