The quarry of Stinkal is worked in partnership with Eiffage. The limestone extracted from this quarry is destined for:
- Road market with (Eiffage)
- Concrete industry, prefabrication and trading( GSM)
Shipments are made by train and bus routes.
The name of the quarry is probably derived from the Dutch/German word "stinkkalk", meaning "fetid limestone".
NOTE: Access to the quarry is forbidden, and it is now protected by barbed wire and camera.

The name may be a relict from the time when Dutch was spoken here: Dutch "stinken" = to stench and Dutch "kalk" = limestone; so "Stinkal" translates as "fetid limestone".
