King Edward is just west of the present Lady Bountiful pits in the northern section of the Mount Pleasant complex. Maps, and lack of surface evidence of old mines may indicate the workings lay under a giant tailings plateau dumped there from more modern times from the Lady Bountiful mine.

King Edward mine GML 1177W, 12 acres. Reported in 1909 the site contained a 190 feet deep inclined shaft, on a series of small quartz veins,trending north-south, and dipping 30 degrees west. The country rock is diorite. The ore channel averages 20 inches wide, of which 6 inches contains high grade gold, and the rest low grade. The vein had been stoped at a depth of 120 feet, and length of 400 feet.

Newton and Dunstan are noted as owners in 1909. B. Stone and Dunstan are noted as owners in 1910. The mine produced 1127 tonnes of ore for 2274 ounces of gold.

A King Edward North mine adjoined it to the north, owned by B. Stone and the Godfrey brothers, GML 1182W or 1378W, 12 acres, underground ore similar to the King Edward mine. Activity is seen at this mine from 1906 to 1909.

Further north was the King Edward Extended or P.A. 213, 18 acres, owned by H.J. Carr. Activity was seen here from 1906 to 1909.
