GML 580R. 24 acres. The lease is on the main Wallaby line of lode, just east of the Yarri battery. There was a main reef and two smaller parallel reefs. A shaft was down to 100 feet, which was the water level, with another shaft to 60 feet. It is a large low grade lode, however the quartz becomes broken, and smaller at the lower levels. The Wallaby mine adjoins to the south, and Wallaby North mine adjoins to the north.

Major development of the Wallaby Central and Wallaby North mines occurred from 1905, when Kalgoorlie based Lake View South Company took out working options over the mines. They sank the main shaft on the Wallaby Central to 200 feet, employing an additional fifteen men.

The lower levels was described as silicified greenish schist, strongly impregnated with pyrites. The sulphides however at the lower levels were too poor in gold values for the company to extract. The company still controls the mines in 1910, but have been let to tributers.

B. Armstrong and party were tributing at the mine around 1908. Well known local prospecting pioneers, Potts and Alderson are tributing in 1909, and obtained 20 000 pounds worth of gold from the mine. Barlow and party 1911. There were probably others.

J.H. Mawby is noted as working the mine in 1931.

By the mid 1930's the Wallaby leases are owned by the J.J. and J. E Smith, Stene and Holznagel. The Smiths are seeking capital to develop the mines in 1941, however World War Two intervenes. At this stage there are two working shafts on the lease, one to 111 feet and another to 42 feet, indicating the richest ore along the Wallaby line of lode was near surface.

1946 GML 1229R. In 1946, Adelaide based Victory Exploration Company is sampling the leases, and put through a trial crushing.
