Vote for your favorite mineral in #MinCup26! - Quartz vs. Asagiite
It's a classic vs a newbie as the most common named mineral in the crust Quartz is up against an exceedingly-rare sea foam-green mineral discovered just a few years ago Asagiite.

I do wonder how big burly miners feel when they have to state they work at Fairyland. The deposit was discovered in 1997, and the underground resource in 2009.

The mine is 12 kilometres east of the Lawlers mining camp, on the eatern limb of the Lawlers Anticline. Gold is found in a north-east striking corridor, associated with biotite alteration of basalt and dolerite. Black shale is also present with unusual geometrical relationships to the basalt and dolerite, indicating it was utilised as zones of shearing.

Gold is located in shallow south to south-east dipping veins which cut the major fabric. The main penetrative foliation dips moderately to the north-east, parallel to the bedding. The veins developed during a D2 event, except the steep dipping veins, which were re-orientated during the D3 event by folding, or may be earlier or later extensional veins.
