Located half-way between the Bulchina mine and Goat Farm mines, 20 kilometres south-west of Sandstone.
At Phoenix there is a structurally complex shear zone trending north-east to south-west, on the western limb of the Sandstone Greenstone Belt, and sub-parallel to the Youanmi Fault. This is cross-cut by regional extensive north-west trending faults.
The prospect is located at the intersection of the structures mentioned above. Drilling at the site failed as the machinery became clogged with saprolitic clay.
