Unequilibrated ordinary chondrite, brecciated (H3-6,br)
Fall, 26 November 1934; >10 kg
A stone fell near the border of France and Belgium close to the commune of Bettrechies with ~10 kg recovered of a somewhat larger total mass. Olivine (Fa~19), pyroxene, Fe-Ni metal, and FeS (presumably troilite) are present. However, the meteorite does not appear to have been the subject of intense scientific scrutiny. The main mass is currently on display at the Museum Musée d'histoire Naturelle in Lille, France (8.425 kg).
There are a number of H3-6 meteorite finds. However, the only witnessed meteorite falls currently classified as exactly 'H3-6' at the Meteoritical Bulletin Database are Zag, a much larger Western Sahara fall of 1998, and Hainaut (as of September 2015).
Note: It does not appear to be at all clear whether the meteorite actually landed in Belgium or France. The coordinates provided here are from the Catalogue of Meteorites (2000).
