A small open pit about 2 kilometres south-west of the McPherson's Reward mine. The company (McPhersons Reward Gold Ltd) controlled the tenements covering the area (2010). First discovered by the Baker brothers in 1947, who mined the gold via shallow shafts along the contact between the sheared porphyry and ultramafic rocks. Drilling occurred at the site in 1989 by Callion Mining. Across 1995 to 1997, the open pit was excavated by Powell Mining. Ore was processed at the Coolgardie state battery and Robinson Mill at Coolgardie Gorge, but no record of production has been found. Killoran NL explored in 2006, and the MacPherson Reward Company 2010 to 2012.
The pit is located on an east-west shear and recent exploration showed much visible gold. Gold is found in a shear zone hosted style along contacts with tonalite. It is a possible extension of the McPherson's Reward tonalite intrusion. McPhersons' prospctus stated that the Baker's Find deposit is folded felsic porphyry intruded into an ultramafic sequence. Gold is hosted in the deformed ultramafics adjacent to the porphyry, but the porphyry is barren of gold.
