Ordinary chondrite, veined (H5)
Fell 1804, 100 g

After detonations, a small stone fell to earth. The meteorite has since been classified as an ordinary chondrite. Scattered references suggest that its mineralogy has some of the expected major and minor components — silicates, Fe-Ni metal, troilite, and chromite. Olivine is evidently the most prominent silicate. However, it does not appear to have been subject to extensive study in the past few decades. Some older, archival references might provide a few more details.

Darmstadt is the least massive of the 12 witnessed and confirmed German H and H/L chondrite falls observed between 1785 and 1956. For several decades the 50 g mass at Heidelberg [64 g in 1923] has been the largest remaining specimen.
