Road cut for the entrance to the Haddam Volunteer Fire Station, 439 Route 154, exposed small common pegmatites and the host Ordovician Pond Meadow Gneiss. Besides the rock forming minerals, accessory magnetite crystals and highly fluorescent opal-AN coatings were found in the pegmatite.
