Lockwood Prospect

The Lockwood was a volcanogenic massive sulfide deposit near the west end of Spada Lake. The top of the deposit mainly consisted of pyrite, and supposedly base metals existed at depth. Considerable core drilling failed to show significant amounts of base metals however. Development consisted of several short adits and cuts.
Tectonics: Accreted Ophiolite Terrane Overprinted By Cascade Arc Magmatism

Deposit: Sphalerite is present in thin discontinuous bands and lenses commonly accompanied by chalcopyrite. Most of deposit is pyritic massive sulfide

Deposit type: Massive sulfide, kuroko

Development: Drilling being undertaken in 1992

Geology: Derkey and others (1993) believed that host rocks are jurassic

Rock formation(s): Western Melange Belt;Western Melange Belt
