A copper mine above the South Fork of the Sultan River. The ore occurred in a shear zone in quartz diorite. It was developed by two adits with around 2000' of workings, an aerial tramway, and a mill.
Structure: Contact Of Gneiss And Batholith

Alteration: Weak Potassic

Tectonics: Cascade Volcanic Arc

Commodity: Ore is slightly radioactive in places

Deposit: Ore in lenses in northeast-trending structures at contact between quartz diorite and metasedimentary rocks. Many quartz veins containing sulfides mrds records d001418, d000688 have been merged with this record and deleted

Deposit type: Porphyry Cu-Mo

Development: No W production

Geology: Region consists of accreted terranes overprinted by cascade magmatism. Hollister indicates goat haven deposit has similar metallogeny and alteration to mazama deposit. Age given is miocene, but batholith is supposed to be oligocene
