Northwest 1/4 of the Northwest 1/4 of Section 6, T9N-R6E

A Cu,Au,Ag,Zn mine

This mine is located under or near the present shore of Spirit Lake.

It worked a fracture zone up to 6" in width in Spirit lake Granodiorite.

Developments included a 2,240' adit with 3 crosscuts.

It produced 14tons of ore in 1905 and 76 tons in 1929.

NOTE: This location is not accessible. It was covered by Spirit Lake when the shore was changed by the 1980 Eruption of Mt St Helens.
Tectonics: Cascade Volcanic Arc

Commodity: Metal values are highly variable along strike of vein

Deposit: Mine is in the area that was devastated during the 1980 eruption of mount st. Helens ; info.src : 1 pub lit dimensions are those given by landes and others. Fracture zone in granodiorite, several inches to 6 ft thick, consists of gouge, talc, granodiorite fragments, and quartz. In individual shoots, pyrite and chalcopyrite are the predominant ore minerals, disseminated in the vein. Vein contains 7 main ore shoots

Deposit type: Polymetallic veins

Development: One of a group of 29 claims patented by dr. H. W. Coe in 1905. Between 1900 and 1910, mount st. Helens consolidated mining co. Spent about $700,000 in an attempt to make the sweden a copper producing mine.
