Cantera Arkaitza, Vera de Bidasoa (Bera), Navarra


Limestone quarry located south of the village of Vera de Bidasoa, close the river, and in its right bank. It is operated by the company "Hormigones Arkaitza S.A.", and not to be confused with the one at the other bank of the river, the Armansa quarry.

Although this quarry area is located near the town of Vera de Bidasoa, it extends on both sides of the Bidasoa river. The left bank belongs to the municipality of Lesaka, and right to Vera. The most significant calcite crystals were found on the left bank of the river, in the Armansa Quarry, so would belong to the municipality of Lesaka, but the nearest village is Vera de Bidasoa.
