Plateau d'Ambulla
A Manganese mine: first concession in 1887 and then work mining at intervals till closing in 1965.
Main artisanal mining extracted 1,500 t at 28% Mn and 4% Fe between 1899 and 1949. It would be concretions and balls of complex manganese oxides concentrated in karstic "pockets" as frequently observed in the Mouthoumet massif.
