Övre Ruds Mine (in Swedish: Övre Ruds koppargruvor, also refered to in some litterature as Glava Cu mines (Glava koppargruvor) or Ruds old Mine (Ruds gamla gruva) is not to be confused with the Glava Cu Field (= Yttre Ruds Mines).
People living in the area has always used the names (Övre) Rud and Yttre Rud respectively.

This mine was probably started in the second half of 18th century and also mined 1803-07 and during World War 1.
In 1880 a new orebody was discovered nearby– called Glava Västra (West).
