Odivelas is a Portuguese city in the Lisbon District. It serves as the seat of the municipality of the same name, which covers an area of approximately 26.5 square kilometers. Since 2013, the municipality has been subdivided into four civil parishes: Odivelas; Pontinha and Famões; Póvoa de Santo Adrião and Olival Basto; and Ramada and Caneças.

Several zeolite occurrences are found in the area, some of which are exposed in road cuts. These are part of the Lisbon Volcanic Complex (LVC), which was formed around 72 million years ago during several significant volcanic episodes. Outcrops of the LVC can be observed between Lisbon and Mafra, extending roughly 40 km to the north. These exposures reveal basaltic flows, tuffs, pyroclasts, volcanic breccias, and a dense network of eruptive dykes.
