This is a two-level, 25-meter deep, 275 x 200 meters active quarry.
In the lowest part of the quarry, ovoid or spherical pyrite aggregates up to (reportedly) 15 cm, but averaging 2-4 cm, are present in a strata.
The following description is taken from the Deposit File of the Quebec Department of Natural Resources :
The rock is a dark grey (siltslate or) dolomitic mudslate of the Stanbridge Group. Its composition is relatively homogenous throughout the quarry.
Due to cleavage, the beds are ill-defined and, when visible, are from 10 to 30 cm thick.
Quartz veins (1 to 8 cm in width)are present, aligned with the cleavage.
