Sedimentary layers along the River Tanaro, near the village of Motta, northeastward extention of those occurring in the municipal territory of Govone.
The fossil wood occurrence extends from Govone (Cuneo Province) to Motta (Asti Province), where material was collected. Most probably the same mineralogy can also be found at the Govone fossil wood occurrence.
