Pearre and Heyl (1960, p. 772) describe the Wet Pit as three shafts on a line trending N23W. On their Plate 41, it is shown as location 39. The northernmost shaft appeared to them to be the main one.
Deposit: This pit is located near NE W development - a church. Therefore there may be some opposition to renewed mining here. Possible environmental problem there are no analyses of chromite or cr Fe ratio given for to deposit in general however the pa and maryland ores would probably meet the requirements for chemical grade. The mine consists of three small water filled shafts trending deg w. Two small piles of lo W grade disseminated ore remain NE and of the main shaft. The large dump from the three shafts contain much sparsely disseminated chromite in schlieren bands and I r lenses in serpentine. Date of comments 1975.
