A tungsten mine.
This deposit, approximately 5 km south of Xingluokeng, is hosted by two phases of granites and Paleozoic sedimentary rocks. The early-phase granite is medium- to coarse-grained biotite granite that has undergone intensive deformation, and the late-phase is tourmaline-bearing fine-grained muscovite granite stock, showing no significant deformation. The contact relationship between these two phases of granite was not identified as all mining tunnels have been closed. The W mineralization at Beikeng occurs mainly as thick quartz veins (mostly 20–50 cm thick with a minor number of veins exceeding 50 cm), with subordinate veinlets (vein width: 1–3 cm).
