An old locality noted for pectolite that according to Elwell (1936) was a quarry not working "for some time". Evidently this quarry is the one situated on the northerly end of the basalt ridge situated on the south side of the Farmington River, just north of the end of Tariffville Road in Bloomfield. It is visible on 1934 aerial photographs. Specimens of similar mineralogy collected later in the 1950s came from the state Route 189 roadcut in the same basalt just to the SE of the old quarry.
