Wakhan District is one of the 28 districts of Badakhshan Province in eastern Afghanistan. The district has three international borders: Tajikistan to the north, Pakistan to the south (specifically Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral District), and with China to the east. The capital of the district is the village of Khandud.
