A gold-copper mine near the summit of Buckhorn Mountain. The ore occurred along a contact metamorphosed shear in limestone. Development consisted of a 200' adit and some cuts. It produced some ore prior to 1915, around 17 carloads from 1914-1915, with additional production up to 1934.
Structure: The Kobau Formation Was Deposited Along An Active Continental Margin Proximal To An Island Arc.

Deposit: Development of the property consists of an adit and many prospect pits. Drilled by crown resources corp. In 1989 and by battle mountain gold in 1990. The property is part of a joint venture between crown resources and battle mountain gold and is known As the buckhorn mountain deposit (1990). ; info.src : 1 pub lit

Geology: The jurassic-cretaceous buckhorn mountain pluton intruded and contact metamorphosed limestones and greenstones of the permian or triassic (?) kobau formation.

Ore(s): The Shear Zone Trends N34w And Dips From 65sw To Vertical; Magnetite And Pyrrhotite Occur In Lens-Like Bodies With Garnet And Epidote Along The Shear Zone And Range From Several Inches To 1 Foot In Width. The Contact Metamorphic Zone Is Not As Well Developed Here As At The Magnetite Mine (Moen, 1980, P. 47).
