Köppen climate type:
A gold-copper mine on the north side of Buckhorn Mountain. The ore occurred as a skarn in quartzite and slate. Development consisted of some short adits, pits, and shafts. It produced 8 carloads of ore from 1908-1916.
Tectonics: The Spectacle Formation Was Deposited Along An Active Continental Margin.
Deposit: This deposit appears to be a northwesterly extension of the ore bodies at the manetic mine. Shafts, adits, prospect pits, and trenches are on the property. A core hole drilled by granby consolidated mining, smelting and power co. Contained intercepts of 0.2-4.3% cu within 112 feet of the surface. ; info.src : 1 pub lit
Geology: The contact metamorphic deposit is found at the contact of permian metasedimentary rocks and the jurassic-cretaceous granodiorite of the buckhorn mountain pluton (moen, 1980, p. 43; stoffel, 1990, p. 29).
Ore(s): Contact Metamorphic Deposit At The Contact Of Permian Metasedimentary Rocks And Biotite-Hornblende Granodiorite (Moen, 1980, P. 43).
