Vote for your favorite mineral in #MinCup26! - Quartz vs. Asagiite
It's a classic vs a newbie as the most common named mineral in the crust Quartz is up against an exceedingly-rare sea foam-green mineral discovered just a few years ago Asagiite.

Andersen's designation Åvesland 1.

A 60 m long and 5-10 m wide quarry where 3000 tons of feldspar were mined in the period before 1927.

Based on the altitude map it is obvious that there has been mining nearby after 1927 too, since there has been opened one more quarry 30 m to the NE.

At a few places there might have been prospected.

Since Andersen's description describes the quarry to be 60 m long, the quarry closest to the road must be the original Andersen locality.

The coordinates are taken in the middle of the quarry.

Andersen reports the presence of 5 m long microcline crystals.
