Forty Ninth Parallel Mine
A copper mine located just south of the Canadian border, 1,500' north of the O.K. property. It worked mineralized quartz veinlets in a fracture zone in greenstone. Development includes a 145' adit, a 100' adit, two 20' adits, an incline and four shafts. It produced ore in 1914.
Tectonics: The Kobau Formation Was Deposited Along An Active Continental Margin Proximal To An Island Arc.
Deposit: Part of the kelsey porphyry copper-molybdenum deposit (roper, 1973).
Geology: The 49th parallel mine is in greenstone tentatively identified As the permian or triassic(?) kobau formation and also is adjacent to an altered quartz diorite phase of the jurassic - cretaceous(?) silver nail lake pluton (roper, 1973).
Ore(s): The 49th Parallel Deposit Is In The Chlorite Alteration Zone Of The Kelsey Porphyry Copper-Molybdenum Deposit (Roper, 1973).
