In pegmatite dyke cutting biotite gneiss.
"The deposit was worked in 1941 by F.C. Hammond and Allan McKay for feldspar which was obtained from a pit measuring about 8 m in diameter. A carload of feldspar was shipped."
A stripping 25 by 50 feet had been cleared on a pegmatite dike on the north slope of a hill just south of the road on the boundary between Stephenson and Stisted townships. Work was in progress in a pit 25 feet square and from 3 to 5 feet deep to obtain a carload of feldspar for a test shipment to the Genesee Feldspar Company, Incorporated, Rochester, N.Y.

Property owners Ted and Jane granted me permission to visit the site. While visiting they shared some history of the site and the local area. They both are quite nice, respectable and friendly people. They told me they would respectfully grant permission for access to the site on the condition that any visitors respect their property and the site in return. They asked that should anyone be interested in a visit to the site, they should contact me and I forward the request to them. Thank you Ted and Jane.
