"TEA TREE GULLY QUARRY was a large quarry developed on quartzite, and slate. It opened in 1854, continuing until 1982. Rehabilitation was carried out using EARF in 1977-1979, 1984 and 1988 - see file MB 449. Production of quartzite and sandstone products from 1974-1982 was estimated at 1.46 million tonnes.
