A former Pb-Ag-Au-Zn occurrence/mine located in sec. 22, T2N, R3E, SBM, about 11 km WNW of Rimrock and 3.5 km (2.2 miles) ESE of Tip Top Mountain (coordinates of record), at the mouth of Rattlesnake Canyon. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in schist. The deposit is a stockwork of shallow-dipping quartz veins in an isolated body of schist in limestone. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a vertical shaft and a 70 degree, inclined shaft and a cut depth of 100 feet by 200 feet (?), plus an adit and a winze from it, to an undetermined depth.
Small, unreported production.
