Alluvial gold deposits in fine sediments along the banks of Orco stream.

Placers, where gold was panned since ancient times, are located in the municipal territories of Cuorgnè, Valperga, Castellamonte, Salassa, Rivarolo Canavese, Lusigliè, Feletto, San Giorgio Canavese, San Giusto Canavese, Bosconero, San Benigno Canavese, Montanaro, and Chivasso.

The average composition of gold is: 93.8 wt% Au, 4.6 wt% Ag, 1.6 wt% other metals.


Note: The name of this stream in Canavese dialect is "Eva d'òr" (literally gold water).
