Location: This occurrence is at an elevation of about 4,100 feet, approximately 1.4 miles south of the summit of Mt. Watana, near the center of sec. 10, T. 30 N., R. 7 E. of the Seward Meridian. The location is accurate to within 1/4 mile.
Geology: At this occurrence, epidotized Triassic microgabbro contains pyrite and chalcopyrite(?). A U.S. Geological Survey rock sample contains 245 parts per million copper, 303 parts per million chromium, and 156 parts per million nickel (J. Schmidt, written commun., 2001).
Workings: Surface sampling only.
Age: In Triassic metagabbro.
Alteration: The gabbro is epidotized.
