Location: This occurrence is at an elevation of about 700 feet in a minor tributary to upper Beaver Creek. The occurrence is on the south side of Beaver Creek about 5 miles above its mouth. It is in the SE1/4 SW1/4 section 29, T. 27 N., R. 43 W., of the Seward Meridian.
Geology: This previously undescribed placer occurrence is in an unnamed gulch about 5 miles upstream from the mouth of Beaver Creek. The rocks in the vicinity are shale and sandstone of the Upper Cretaceous, Kuskokwim Group (Miller and Bundtzen, 1994; Miller, Bundtzen, and Gray, 2005). The nonmagnetic fraction of a concentrate panned from stream alluvium contained visible grains of gold (Bennett and others, 1988).
Workings: Samples were collected by the U.S. Geological Survey in 1985 (Bennett and others, 1988).
Age: Probably Quaternary.
