This site is located in the Aleutian Maritime Wildlife Refuge.

Location:
This site is located near the southeast coast of Gareloi Island approximately 1 1/2 miles east of triangulation point Gareloi. Site is accurate to within 2 miles.

Geology:
Copper sublimate occurs on the scoriaceous surface of a lava flow. This material was found to be a mixture of atacamite and paratacamite.

Workings:
The U.S. Geological Survey mapped this area in the 1950's.
