The quarry is set in a white-creamy limestone formation Infralias-Jurassic age containing vugs and extraordinary cavities (karst formation) with plenty of calcite crystals up to 2 cm included in reddish clay. Geode and vuggy cavities were irregularly encountered following a well-developed karstic system.
NOTE: Currently the access to the deposit is private and the owner does not allow trespassing.
