Location: This occurrence is in outcrops along a logging road about 0.3 mile northeast of Kitkun Bay. It is in the SW1/4 section 14, T. 77 S., R. 88 E.
Geology: As described by Hedderly-Smith (1999 [Inventory]), this occurrence is an outcrop of quartz-chlorite-sericite schist (meta-rhyolite?) 10 to 15 feet thick that contains 5-20 percent pyrite. His samples contained up to 265 parts per million copper and 193 parts per billion gold. Most of the rock in the area is felsic chlorite schist that is part of the Wales Group of Late Proterozoic and Cambrian age (Eberlein and others, 1983; Brew, 1996).
Workings: Only sampling by industry geologist.
Age: Younger than or contemporaneous with the Late Proterozoic or Cambrian host rocks.
