Zeolites are found in Eocene marine pillow basalt and breccia in the Eckman Quarry, east of Walport and south of the Alsea River, along Eckman Creek. The marine pillow basalt is covered by columnar basalt flows. Gas pockets that average 8 cm with some reaching 25 cm are commonly lined with analcime, natrolite, and calcite. Specimens were first found in the 1960's. The quarry is now closed to collecting.
